VIDEO – Classic Canoe Yawl Ethel designed by George Holmes 150 years ago. Rigging it with one of our Oz Goose sails to recreate the original Balance lug main reduced rigging time from near an hour to about 10 minutes and resolved several handling problems. John was looking for more oomph for his NorthEaster Dory by CLC. He decided to try the RSS 89 square foot lug sail. He found himself sailing happily alongside Lasers for an extended period, causing puzzled looks from the young Laser sailors. Boat handles much better too.
