Another 2023 Texas 200 participant Mike Singleton used our sails in the very tough event this year. One of the days had 30+ knots resulting in half the fleet retiring.
We developed the Mayfly 14 and 16 sails as expedition sails using the feedback of Chuck Pierce who has sailed the Texas 200 Multiple times.
The sails have extra patches in the corners and the reefs as well as having a raked reef that goes a long distance up the leach to make a small area reefed sail that looks like a lateen.
Here is a video from a quieter moment. But there is a reef in as the afternoons get very blowy on the Texas coast.
A bit more wind, but still chilling along. Auxiliary Skipper is thinking … “is this afternoon going to be like yesterday …?”. Reef is already in.
